On January 16, Dr. Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet, hosted and moderated a one-hour press briefing for key members of the European and international press corps. Dr. Horton opened the briefing, followed by presentations from authors representing each of the five papers. Presenting authors included Zulfiqar Bhutta, Caroline Fall, Simon Cousens, Denise Costa Coitinho, and Bruce Cogill. These remarks were followed by a 30 minute question and answer period. In addition to Dr. Horton and the Series authors, various global health experts and key stakeholders were in attendance to answer reporters' questions, including representatives from the Children's Investment Fund Foundation, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DFID, and Save the Children UK.
